Share Your Ideas

NLI welcomes session ideas from across Alaska. If you have a topic, facilitator, or community need you believe would strengthen leadership in our state, we invite you to share it with us. Your recommendations help us stay responsive, inclusive, and grounded in what matters to Alaskans.

What We’re Looking For

We aim to offer sessions that help develop the next generation of Alaska’s leaders. Strong recommendations often reflect one or more of the following:

  • Connection to NLI’s mission and values. Ideas that build leadership skills, strengthen community, honor culture, or deepen understanding of Alaska’s unique context.

  • Relevance to what leaders are facing today. Topics that respond to current issues, emerging needs, or opportunities in our communities.

  • A good fit for our session format. Sessions that can be delivered meaningfully within our 2.5–3 day structure.

  • Potential to strengthen relationships. Ideas that bring in trusted partners, Tribal leaders, culture bearers, or community experts.

  • A balanced season. We aim for a mix of professional development, cultural grounding, and experiential or “fun” offerings.

  • Respect for continuity. We value new ideas and also maintain long‑standing sessions that anchor the season.

You don’t need to address all of these—just share why your idea matters and who it would benefit.

How We Review Recommendations

Our team reviews all submissions using criteria that help us balance mission alignment, community needs, and the realities of our camp season. While we cannot offer every session each year, your ideas directly inform our planning and help shape future offering! Thank you!
